Sand Plain Research Farm Irrigation and Nutrient Management Field Day

Much of Minnesota is currently in drought conditions, while others are facing unusually dry conditions. In dry seasons, water availability can become an issue later in the season for irrigation. Using irrigation scheduling tools and precision irrigation benefit the environment and improve farm profitability.

The field day will be hosted by Sand Plain Research Farm on Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. The Farm is located next to Knife River Corporation at 16491 157th St. SE, Big Lake, MN 55309. There will be extension signs directing you to the event. A complimentary dinner will also be provided to attendees.

This FREE field day will focus on advanced irrigation and nutrient management practices and research conducted at the Sand Plain Research Farm featuring University of Minnesota researchers. Topics will include: precision irrigation and nitrogen management in corn and potatoes, soil moisture sensing technology for irrigation scheduling, and enhanced efficiency fertilizers.
